THERE'S a lot of talk about equality at the moment in the political landscape, especially since Harriet Harman, Labour's Deputy Leader introduced her equality bill into the House of Commons. Although this tries to not be a political site, everything in life is political - hence the "where food isn't just food" tag comes in at POYP.
If we talk about equality and feminism related to food, the line taken by some (you could call them chauvinists) is that all the best cooks in the foodie sphere, are men. The Jamie Olivers, Gordon Ramsays, Worrall Thompson's are all astounding cooks, but, where did they learn it from, or where were they first inspired from it? Their mamas?
And after all, who started the celebrity chef craze? It was a woman. Delia Smith. So it's not that men are better cooks to begin with, it's just they learn and grow into good cooks from their parentis habitat. The video is a witty look at feminism.
